Ingredients:

1 stick of butter
1/4 cup of your favorite whisky (We used Bubba’s Brown Sugar Whisky)
1 sweet onion sliced into half moon strips
1. Fire up your smoker and set it to 170F.
2. Chuck the sausages into the smoker and cook for 90 minutes.
3. Remove the sausages from the smoker and immediately chuck them into an ice bath and allow to cool for 15 minutes.
4. Remove the sausages from the ice bath, thoroughly dry them with a paper towel and chuck them into the refrigerator on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes.
5. Place your butter, onions, whisky and salt and pepper to taste into a cast iron skillet, or a disposable aluminum pan.
6. Bump your smoker temperature up to 225F, chuck the onions and sausages into it and allow to cook for 90 minutes.
7. Remove everything from the smoker, place a sausage on the bun, cover with onions, serve and ENJOY!
