An Austrian Treat you MUST Try! | Wienerschnitzel
The national dish of Austria, Wiener Schnitzel is a delicious , easy and relatively quick meal to prepare. Wiener schnitzel is made with veal loin. This dish can also be made with pork loin, but it would not be traditional Wiener schnitzel.
Ingredients:
2 lbs veal loin, sliced in 1/2’ cutlets
1 cup flour
4 eggs, well beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs (I used Italian bread crumbs)
Enough veggie oil to get about 1/2” in your skillet
1. Sandwich a veal cutlet between 2 pieces of parchment paper and beat with a meat tenderized until 1/8” thick.
2. Dredge each cutlet in the cloud, then eggs, then breadcrumbs. Your key to awesome wiener schnitzel is to ensure the eggs are thoroughly beaten, and when dredging in the breadcrumbs, not to press the crumbs into the veal.
3. Heat veggie oil in a skillet to 370F. Place the schnitzel into the pan. Fry until the breading achieves a golden color.
4. Remove and place on a rack over a baking sheet.
5. Once cooled for a few minutes, serve and ENJOY!
