The Kaiser Burger

Dedicated to a past mentor, this burger does NOT disappoint!

Things cooked with a bacon weave are beautiful and tasty. What if we made a weave with kielbasa? And what if we added it to a burger? You don’t need to wonder anymore. Here we cook up a burger with kielbasa, Swiss cheese, mustard, mayo and sauerkraut (or cabbage for the kraut haters).

The Kaiser Burger

Ingredients: 

32 oz lean ground beef (aged ground beef used in the video) 

2 kielbasa sausages 

8 slices of Swiss cheese 

1/2 cup of sauerkraut  

2 T Mayo  

2 T mustard  

Burger seasoning 

4 Kaiser rolls, buttered and toasted, for serving 

1. Divide the ground beef into 4 oz. balls. 

2. Make the sauce by combining the mayo and mustard. 

3. Slice your kielbasa into thin strips just longer that the width of the buns. 

4. Fire up your griddle on medium heat. Toast the buns and crispen up the kielbasa strips. 

5. Place the ball of ground beef in the griddle and let it cook for about 10-20 seconds, then flip the ball and smash the ball into the griddle. 

6. Once you begin to see the edges of the burger patty brown and crispen up, flip the patties and apply the swiss cheese. Once the cheese is good and melted it is time to construct the burger. 

7. Place about a tablespoon of the sauce on the bottom bun, top with 2 of the cheesed patties, add the kielbasa strips and top with a spoonful of drained sauerkraut and the top bun. 

8. Serve and ENJOY!
