Mongolian Beef and Noodles

An Easy, Delicious Way to Take Your Ground Beef to the Next Level | Mongolian Beef and Noodles

Most Bourbon Chicken recipes do not include bourbon. The Bourbon in Bourbon Chicken comes from Bourbon Street in New Orleans. WeRegular Mongolian Beef and Noodles made by the Galley of the Sun? Oh, nay nay. We present to you Aged Ground Beef Garlic Mongolian Beef! Enjoy!

Ingredients

 

16 oz wide rice noodles  

2 lbs ground beef (of course we used our homemade aged ground beef )

2 T sesame oil  

2 zucchini, cut into small bite sized cubes

8 cloves of garlic, minced

3 T ginger paste

2 t chili paste

1 t crushed red pepper flakes  

1 cup soy sauce  

1/2 cup brown sugar  

1/2 cup hoisin sauce (we used Garlic Hoisin Sauce)

2 cups beef broth  

4 T cornstarch  

2 bunches green onions, sliced

2 T sesame seeds  

1. Cook noodles according to the instructions on the package, rinse with cold water and set aside.

2. Brown the ground beef in a skillet with 1 T sesame oil.  About halfway through cooking the beef, add the zucchini and stir to mix.

3. Once all of the pink is gone from the beef, add the garlic and ginger paste and cook for an additional minute.

4. Add the chili paste, soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce and 1/2 of the beef broth to the skillet.

5. Stir the cornstarch into the remaining beef broth until dissolved.  Add the mixture to the skillet.

6. Continue to cook over medium heat until the sauce is bubbly and the meat is evenly coated.

7. Add 1/2 cup of green onions to the mixture.

8. Taste the sauce and adjust heat level to taste (add more crushed red pepper and/or chili paste to raise the heat level).

9. Cook for 1-2 minutes longer.

10. Add the noodles to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.

11. Serve, garnish with the additional green onions and sesame seeds if desired.  ENJOY!
