Things to know:

What is the history of chocolate brownies?

Chocolate brownies originated in the United States in the late 19th century, with the first known recipe-like creation commissioned by Bertha Palmer for the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair. Originally a dense, walnut-and-apricot-glazed cake, the recipe evolved into modern chocolate brownies through early 20th-century cookbooks like Fannie Farmer’s and, later, the “Bangor Brownies”.

What are brownies?

A chocolate brownie is a dense, baked chocolate dessert bar that can range from fudgy to cakey, often with a shiny top and additions like nuts or chocolate chips. Key ingredients typically include butter, sugar, eggs, flour, and cocoa powder, with variations in texture achieved through different ratios and baking times. They are a popular treat, served plain, with frosting, or with ice cream.  As you can see with this amazing recipe, they are even great if you do not cook them…especially if you add some hooch!

What is Baileys Chocolate Liqueur?

Baileys Chocolate Liqueur (often Baileys Chocolat Luxe) is a premium blend of Irish dairy cream, Irish whiskey, and real Belgian chocolate, offering a rich, velvet-textured taste. Typically bottled at 15.7% ABV, this indulgent liqueur is best enjoyed poured over ice, mixed into coffee, or as a decadent dessert cocktail ingredient…or added to brownie mix!
