La Vic’s Orange Taco Sauce

A Bay Area Classic!

People are going nuts for LaVicotria’s Orange Sauce.  This San Francisco area taco shop has everybody talking!

Ingredients:

6 chipotles in adobo (remove as much of the adobo as you can)  20 garlic cloves

1/4 cup fresh lime juice (about 3 limes)

1 t chipotle powder

1 t smoked paprika

1 t salt

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1. Combine the garlic, chipotles, chipotle powder, salt and lime juice in a blender and pulse to finely chop. Turn blender on and slowly dribble in the oil. Pour into a small bowl and add a tablespoon or two of water to thin the salsa if necessary. Taste and add salt, about a teaspoon.  ENJOY!

This salsa is really best in the first 24 hours. You can keep it for a day or two, in the fridge- re-blend if it starts to separate.
