A Crazy Delicious Fiesta for your Face | Carne Asada
The term Carne Asada translates literally to “grilled meat.” Carne Asada is grilled and sliced beef, usually skirt steak, or a flank steak. It is marinated then grilled or seared to impart a charred flavor, which we do on our Yoder YS640 Smoker. Carne Asada can be served on its own or as an ingredient in other dishes such as tacos or a salad.
Ingredients
Meat
2 lbs. Skirt steak
Marinade
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 T balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup orange juice
1/3 cup lime juice
1 1/2 t chipotle powder
1 t cumin
1 t dried oregano
1 t onion powder
4 Garlic cloves (grated)
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
1. Combine the marinade ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
2. Dredge the skirt steak through the marinade, ensuring each side is well coated.
3. Place the skirt steak into a zip-lock, vacuum seal bag, or brining bucket and pour in the remaining marinade. Place in refrigerator for 2-6 hours.
4. Pre-heat the grill to high heat (450°). Place the skirt steak directly over the flame. Cook for 4-6 min per side, until an internal temperature of 140°. Allow meat to rest for 10 minutes.
5. Serve and ENJOY!
